What the Chrome extension does

The extension adds a capture action and keyboard command for sending visible browser context into Acedly. Its current manifest requests activeTab and commands permissions, and its content connection is limited to Acedly pages plus local development origins.

That narrow job matters. It is not an overlay injected into arbitrary interview websites, and it is not the same product surface as Acedly's native desktop assistant. Use the desktop app when you need the live meeting workflow; use the extension when a browser screenshot is the input you want to analyze.

  • Confirm the image and question inside Acedly before analysis.

Extension or desktop app?

Choose the extension for explicit, user-triggered browser capture into the Acedly web workspace. Choose the desktop app for live audio, meeting-platform support, and OS-level window behavior. The extension does not make the desktop app unnecessary, and the desktop app does not require the extension for its core live-interview workflow.

If an employer or assessment prohibits screenshots, browser extensions, or outside assistance, do not use the extension. Practice with permitted sample material instead.
