What the Chrome extension does

The extension adds a capture action and keyboard command for sending visible browser context into Acedly. Its current manifest requests activeTab and commands permissions, and its content connection is limited to Acedly pages plus local development origins.

That narrow job matters. It is not an overlay injected into arbitrary interview websites, and it is not the same product surface as Acedly's native desktop assistant. Use the desktop app when you need the live meeting workflow; use the extension when a browser screenshot is the input you want to analyze.

  • Open the official Chrome Web Store listing.
  • Review the permissions shown by Chrome before installing.
  • Use the toolbar action or Command/Ctrl + Shift + 9 to capture.
  • Confirm the image and question inside Acedly before analysis.

Extension or desktop app?

Choose the extension for explicit, user-triggered browser capture into the Acedly web workspace. Choose the desktop app for live audio, meeting-platform support, and OS-level window behavior. The extension does not make the desktop app unnecessary, and the desktop app does not require the extension for its core live-interview workflow.

If an employer or assessment prohibits screenshots, browser extensions, or outside assistance, do not use the extension. Practice with permitted sample material instead.

Verify the official extension

Install only from the store link on this page or from an acedly.ai property. Check that the publisher and extension name are Acedly, and compare the requested permissions with the explanation above. If Chrome displays a different permission set, stop and verify the listing before continuing.

FAQ

Questions about capture interview context into acedly from chrome

What permissions does the Acedly Chrome extension request?

The current extension manifest requests activeTab and commands. activeTab grants temporary access to the active tab after an explicit user action; commands enables the capture keyboard shortcut.

Does the extension run on every website?

Its content connection is limited to Acedly web origins. The capture action is user-triggered; the extension is not designed to inject an interview overlay into arbitrary websites.

Is the Chrome extension the same as the Acedly desktop app?

No. The extension is a browser capture companion. The desktop app provides the native live-interview workflow, including meeting audio and OS-level window behavior.

Can I use it during an online assessment?

Only when the employer and assessment platform allow screenshots and outside assistance. If the rules prohibit them or are unclear, use the extension for practice rather than the live assessment.
