Install the official 64-bit Windows build
Download Acedly from the official page and use the Windows x64 installer on Windows 10 or later. Complete installation and sign in before the interview day so an operating-system prompt or update does not interrupt the live call.
Keep the app updated, especially after a Windows or meeting-client update. Audio devices can be renamed or reordered after driver, dock, headset, or conferencing-software changes.
Choose the microphone instead of trusting the default
Open the session setup and select the microphone you plan to use. Speak at normal interview volume and confirm that the level and transcript respond. If the device cannot be opened, check Windows microphone privacy access, reconnect the device, and select it again.
Avoid switching between a laptop microphone, headset, dock, and webcam after the test. If the device configuration changes, repeat the preflight because Windows may assign a different default input.
- Confirm microphone access is enabled for desktop apps in Windows Privacy settings.
- Select the exact headset, USB microphone, or laptop input inside the Acedly session.
- Close other applications that have taken exclusive control of the microphone when capture fails.
- Repeat the test after reconnecting a dock, Bluetooth headset, or external webcam.
Verify the interviewer side of the call
A working microphone proves only that Acedly can hear you. Join a short practice call on the target meeting platform and have another device or participant speak. Confirm that the remote side reaches the transcript as well.
Run the test with the meeting client, output device, and headphones planned for the real call. If system audio stops, restart Acedly and the meeting client, then repeat the test before changing several settings at once.
Keep a clean fallback path
Keep the web app, résumé, job description, and interview notes accessible even when the desktop workflow is ready. Assessment Assistant can also accept uploaded images or pasted prompts for permitted practice. A fallback should already be tested rather than invented during the interview.
